WHEN APPROPRIATE, I deliver clear, rigorous, timely, low-fidelity wireframes in PowerPoint that capture as many use-cases as can be reasonably imagined. Especially the most likely edge-cases. Generally, you want to deliver mature, especially NEW design, to developers in your PRIMARY design environment, preferably in a developer “mode” like Dev Mode in Figma. But using PowerPoint for quick hits and other specific cases eliminates a number of x-factors:

Everyone in enterprise software understands PowerPoint and will be comfortable using it. And it does not require the dev consuming it to have access to, or familiarity with a primary design environment (e.g. Figma). This approach to low-fi covers other technical stakeholders as well, who might not be as familiar with the primary design environment, but need to validate the design and/or otherwise understand the ask.
